AFL Grand Final Eve 2025

On AFL Grand Final Eve, Hyde Street Youth Band paid a visit to ABC Melbourne Radio headquarters in Southbank for a special appearance to celebrate all things AFL Grand Final! Great to work with Sharnelle and Bob on Breakfast Radio.

The band entertained the breakfast crowd with the Brisbane Lions theme, the Geelong Cats theme and to top it off, our own version of Snoop Dogg and Bruno Mars’ ‘Wild, Young & Free’ with words modified by Phillipa Edwards Ethan Orme, Fergus Moorhouse & Meg Bate, the last two performing the vocals! And former member James Swinton whipped up the arrangement for the band overnight following a last minute request.

And then, the legendary Jack Reiwoldt, former Vice Captain of the Richmond FC appeared with the AFL Premiership cup, which our young players couldn’t keep their hands off!
