Lady Northcote Pre-National Championships Camp 2026

Our annual Australian National Band Championships preparation camp at Lady Northcote Scout Camp is an amazing opportunity for Hyde Street Youth Band and Junior Band players to practice their hearts out with their bands and sectionals with wonderful tutors Richard Shirley, Abbey Edlin, our MDs Phillipa and Fern, Patrick, and our players stepping up into a leadership role – Izzi, Hetty, Will, and Matthew.

We couldn’t have done it without our dedicated MDs Phillipa Edwards and Fern Gass. And wonderful to welcome some of our Brass Class players and families to a day session and concert with Caitlin! There were many highlights for players and families including toasting marshmallows by the fire, many a game of Gaga Ball, and Imposter. Many thanks to all the committed parents helping on site, Duc’s Cooks who made and cooked the food, and those who organised the whole camp from scratch behind the scenes! The whole weekend was a celebration of our band’s values: Community, Mastery and Joy!
