Bendigo Eisteddfod success!
Hyde Street Youth Band had so much fun at the wonderfully well organised Bendigo Competitions Society Eisteddfod today in Open D Grade. All five bands played to such a high standard with lovely and fun repertoire. Nice work from Wodonga Brass and Ararat Brass in second and third and Eaglehawk and Beaufort bands too. The kids were fortunate enough to win by just one point, having put in a lot of work in the last five weeks with all new pieces after Nationals. It could have so easily gone another way! Many thanks to our indefatigable MD Phillipa Edwards for everything that you do, and our hardworking parents and committee that hold everything together and make sure everything runs seamlessly (almost!).

It was also so exciting to have three bands playing in Junior Grade at the Bendigo Competitions Society today! A fabulous effort from Box Hill Academy of Brass in winning the junior competition, such beautiful playing. It was a great pleasure to hear such excellent work from Richmond Youth Brass in their very first competition outing from such a new band. The future of brass banding is in good hands with all of these young people. Our Juniors came in a close second and we are so impressed with Musical Director Bethany conducting in her first competition. What an effort in five short weeks, the kids have loved every minute! And thanks to all the Youth Band kids who helped the Juniors.
